The Justicia defends the rights and freedom of citizens from the possible abuses of Public Institutions. El Justica de Aragón is the historic name given to the Ombudsman of this region. Some authors regard this figure as the precedent of every modern Ombudsmen in Europe. Unlike its medieval structure, nowadays el Justicia does not judge or pass sentences on conflicts he takes part of, he rather supervises the Insitutions' activities through suggestions, advices and special reports regarding matters of his competence.
